WHAT IS AYURVEDA?

Ayurveda is India’s traditional natural healing system going back over five thousand years. It is the medical aspect of the Yoga tradition and contains the secrets of inner and outer well-being. Ayurveda is now recognized as one of the most important systems of mind-body medicine, and its popularity is spreading worldwide.

Ayurveda considers all aspects of healing, from diet and herbs to mantra and meditation, as a complete, holistic system of medicine. It is truly the medicine of the coming planetary age, with almost no limits to its growth and application in the current health situation, where Ayurvedic methods of disease prevention and proper lifestyle are becoming important considerations for everyone. 

MY QUALIFICATIONS 

In 2012 I earned the designation of Ayurvedic Life-Style Counselor from The American Institute of Vedic Studies. The American Institute of Vedic Studies is an educational center providing a broad range of training programs, resources, and publications. It focuses on Ayurveda, Vedic astrology, Yoga, and their interconnections. It offers in-depth examinations of Veda, Vedanta, and Tantra, along with the background system of Hinduism and Sanatana Dharma. It is one of the few places in the world today that brings the greater Yoga tradition together and explains it integrally and authentically with regard to its ancient lineages and branches. It also holds a special connection with the teachings of Ramana Maharshi, Kavyakantha Ganapati Muni, and Anandamayi Ma.
 The Vedic Institute is recognized internationally as an important center of Vedic learning and research. Founded and directed by charya David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri), it serves as a vehicle for his work, offering courses and consultations to go along with his many published writings. Vamadeva has been one of the most honored acharyas or teachers of Vedic wisdom in India and the western world over the last thirty years. He is respected as an Ayurvedacharya (teacher of Ayurvedic medicine), Jyotish Brihaspati (teacher of Vedic astrology), Vedacharya, and Vedaguru (teacher of the Vedas). He is regarded as a Pandit, a doctor or professor of Vedic wisdom. He is one of the few modern teachers to write definitive books in all significant Vedic fields, based on his original study of Sanskrit texts and his direct experience, including commentaries on the Vedas.
