Yoga for Mum/Dad & Baby
As a fellow parent, I understand how difficult it is to justify paying for a babysitter and a yoga class each day. It is also understood how challenging it is to get together with friends during the week when the children are still at home and possibly not in school. The Yoga for Mums/Dads and Babies class offers you an opportunity to gather your children and your friends (or make new ones), and then reward yourself with Yoga and meditation as the kids play together... you know you deserve it.
My empathic and intuitive teaching style creates a group yoga class that is challenging yet rewarding. Aware that each group is different, I will read the energy and dynamic of the class and present a series of postures conducive to an engaging, powerfully reflective session. This yoga class covers a full range of asanas: sitting, standing, balance, forward and back bends, twists, hip openers, and sun salutations.
Special attention is paid to the pelvis and abdominal healing, strengthening, and realignment. If you have or are afraid you have diastasis recti, this is the class for you too! I can determine the extent of the separation of your abdominal muscles and then arrange the class sequence to help heal it. You will also leave the class with additional at-home exercises to do in order to heal more quickly.
So call your friends, pick a day of the week and a time that best works for everyone, and then simply commit to honor and love yourself at least once a week. Not only will your yoga practice help you remain centered and present throughout the rest of the week, but it will also introduce your children to the power of mantra and breathwork. It is so amazing to see and hear the effect of a simple “OM”... How one moment they are laughing, playing, and making noise around you, but then they suddenly become calm and reflective when they hear you chanting a simple “Om” with your girlfriends.
